They were supposed to partake in the Fjordkraft Bergen City Marathon in Oslo on April 27, 2024 but refused. The 11-member ‘paralympic’ team from Ghana surprisingly flee their camp and 9 are nowhere to be found.

The 11-memeber team was granted Visas by the Norwegian Embassy on 25th April. Nana Antwi, a member of the team, was arrested a day after their arrival for trying to leave Norway for Sweden on a one-way train ticket leading to the alert of Norwegian officials.

The sudden demise of head coach George Gyamfi Gyasi on April 28, 2024, after collapsing and being admitted to Oslo University Hospital (ULEVAL) prompted Norwegian officials to lookfor the rest of the team, according to National Security Minister Albert Kan-Dapaa.

The remaining 9 members are nowhere to be found per letters at the offices of the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Norwegian Embassy has made all borders around Norway and Europe in general to be aware of the presence of the 9 men and have ordered for their arrest and deportation.
