Samartex has won their first-ever major trophy after winning the Ghana Premier League with two games to spare.

On Sunday afternoon at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samaraboi, Nurudeen Amadu’s Samartex won 1-0 against Bibiani Gold Stars with Emmanuel Mamah breaking the deadlock in the first half.

Samartex protected their lead knowing very well they were on the edge of glory. The Timber Giants ended the game with a slim 1-0 win and were confirmed champions after Aduana lost on Saturday at Bechem and Meadeama lost at home to Heart of Lions on Sunday.

It’s only Samartex’s second season in Ghana’s top flight but have shocked everyone and won the title.

A huge party is expected throughout the week in Samraboi for the wonderful achievement.
