Vice President of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has paid her respects to the late founding President of Namibia, Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma.

On Monday, Professor Opoku-Agyemang attended the state funeral of Dr. Nujoma, who passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to Namibia’s independence and development.

In a statement, Professor Opoku-Agyemang described Dr. Nujoma as a “visionary leader” whose unwavering commitment to Namibia’s freedom and progress continues to inspire generations.

She noted that his legacy of resilience, patriotism, and Pan-Africanism will forever be etched in the annals of African history.

On behalf of the government and people of Ghana, Professor Opoku-Agyemang extended deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Nujoma, the government, and the people of Namibia.

“May his soul rest in perfect peace,” she said.

The state funeral of Dr. Nujoma was a solemn occasion that brought together dignitaries from across Africa and beyond to pay their respects to a man who played a pivotal role in shaping Namibia’s history.
