Raymond Grippman’s 43rd-minute strike ensured an important win for the relegation-threatened Accra Great Olympics over Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Oly Dade has won back-to-back games for the first time since early March in the Ghana Premier League bringing an end to their recent struggles.

The game was an important one for the Accra-based club as they needed points over their opponents Asante Kotoko.

The game was not as intense as expected because both teams failed to create enough chances. Asante Kotoko had only one shot attempt in the entire game making it a very difficult afternoon for Prosper Ogum’s men.

Accra Great Olympics had just two goal attempts and luckily scored from one.

The win has helped Oly Dade ease relegation tension although they remain in the relegation zone. With a game in hand Accra Great Olympics sit 15th on the league log and a win in their outstanding game will move them out of the relegation zone.

Accra Great Olympics’ final three games for the season are against Dreams FC, Accra Hearts of Oak and RTU. Luckily for Oly Dade, they will play all the games at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko sits 10th with 43 points after playing 32 games.
