The new TNA Park hosted its first ever GPL game as Medeama defeated Accra Lions 1-0.

Forward Bernardinho Tetteh scored a 55th minute penalty to ensure that the Mauve and Yellow starts the new season with a victory.

The 2022-23 champions are tipped to be one of the teams to win the GPL and they proved it with a win against last season’s runner up, Accra Lions.

Ibrahim Tanko’s Accra Lions have proven to be a difficult nut to crack since last season and they continued it at the TNA Park with their energy and youthfulness.

Accra Lions was a little bit ahead of Medeama in terms of possession and chances creation but lost unluckily to a penalty kick.
