Table toppers Medeama and the impressive Heart of Lions shared the spoils at the TNA Park on Saturday night. After a gruelling 90 minutes of action, the game ended in a goalless draw.

The Mauve and Yellow faced probably their biggest game of the season so far with Heart of Lions posing so many threat to the defence of the home side.

Bashir Hayford’s Heart of Lions had no fear playing against the 2022-23 champions. They showed fighting spirit, fearlessness and proper camaraderie on the field.

After 90 minutes, the Kpando-based club had an incredible 15 goal attempts with many wondering what exactly has the experienced Hayford added to the team. Three shots on goal and 12 off target were impressively recorded by Heart of Lions.

Medeama’s three game winning streak was ended after they also failed to capitalise on the 5 shot attempts they had from 14 attempts in total. Nebojsa Kapor’s side will realise that the battle ahead is very tough in their quest to win their second title in three seasons.

Heart of Lions has moved to 4th place with 7 points from 5 games. Medeama extends lead over Kotoko to 2 points with a game in hand. A win for Kotoko on Sunday at the Len Clay Sports Stadium will help them leapfrog Medeama and move to the top of the table.
