Kamaradini Mamudu’s opener in the 19th minute gave Ibrahim Tanko’s side the start they had wished for. Emmanuel Sanje’s own goal in the 32nd minute doubled the home side’s lead.
Medeama ended the first half with two goals ahead, with Vision having a daunting task to bounce back into the game.
Emmanuel Owusu’s goal with five minutes to go in the 90 made it 3-0. Abdulai Nuruudeen rounded off the evening for the Mauve and Yellow with the fourth goal.
It was smiles for the fans and the entourage of Medeama after recording their second successive victories in the new campaign.
On Saturday, Eleven Wonders was given a warm welcome by last season’s runner-up Heart of Lions as they were defeated 4-1. Paul Atta Agyei scored a brace in the second half to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. Ebenezer Abban’s own goal pulled one back for Eleven Wonders in the 75th minute. Ishamel Addo and Kojo Kumah’s late strike condemned Eleven Wonders to an embarrassing home defeat.
Hohoe United, in their first home game at the Hohoe Park, drew with Abass Gania, giving the home fans something to cheer about in the 48th minute. Hohoe United took the lead, with Young Apostles finding it difficult to reorganise themselves
On Sunday, Samartex drew 1-1 at their favourite Nsenkyire Park against Karela United. Karela scored first in the 27th minute through Mohammed Zaidan’s strike to stun the home crowd. Samartex equalised in the 77th minute but could not find the winner.
Hensen Amponsah’s 92nd-minute strike helped Aduana Stars record a narrow 1-0 win over Nations FC.
Bechem United disappointingly drew goalless against Holy Stars at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour’s Park in Bechem.
