Nations FC converted a late penalty to draw 2-2 against Asante Kotoko in match week six of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

The Kumasi Derby first half ended in a goalless draw as both teams could not find the back of the net.

After the break, Nations FC took the lead from a corner kick in the 50th minute through Andrews Ntim Manu who turned the ball into his own net.

Kalo Ouattara scored the equalizer for Asante Kotoko in the 87th minute before Michael Kyei Dwamena gave the Porcupine Warriors the lead in added time.

Prosper Ogum’s team thought they were heading for the victory but Nations FC didn’t give up.

The hosts were awarded a penalty before the game was put on hold for minutes. It was eventually converted by Amidou Diarra to end the game 2-2.

Nations FC will take on Medeama SC in an outstanding match week three fixture at the Tarkwa Akoon Park, the home of the champions on Wednesday, October 25 before playing against Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in match week seven.

For the Porcupine Warriors, next game will be against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
