Asante Kotoko bounced back to winning ways after new signing Musa Hamzata’s second-half strike won the 2025 Super Clash for the Porcupine Warriors.

Bibiani Gold Stars looked favourite in the fixture after winning the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League and topped ot with a success in the GHALCA Top 4.

Duns Park has been the Miners’ stronghold, and many expected them to capitalise on it to finish off the Porcupine Warriors, but former Accra Lions defender Hamzata made sure the story would be different.

The game looked so balanced as both sides had the opportunity to win the trophy, but it looked a bit blunt in attack. The first half ended goalless draw, with a huge contest expected in the second half by fans.

Asante Kotoko needed to double their effort to ensure a win at Bibiani. The Porcupine Warriors scored to silence the home side in the 68th minute.

Gold Stars had enough time to level matters, but Kotoko defended and recorded their first win in their last four games.

Both clubs will represent Ghana in Africa and will use the game as the ultimate preparation for the journey and also the upcoming new season.

Abdul Karim Ziti added the Super Cup to the MTN FA Cup and the President’s Cup he has won so far, Asante Kotoko.
