Hearts of Oak’s exit in the Ghana MTN FA Cup round 16 to Golden Kick shocked everyone. The Phobians expected to beat the Access Bank Division One side easily but failed to do what was needed.

After a gruesome 90 minutes of action at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, Hearts of Oak lost 4-3 on penalties against Golden Kick after a goalless draw in the 90 minutes.

The result has put head coach Abubakar Ouattara under huge pressure with many Phobia fans revisiting the old ‘Is he the right man for the job?’ slogan.

In an interview on Asempa FM, the Ivorian tactician disclosed that he is not afraid to be sacked.

“Every coach will be criticized if things don’t go well. No problem. People can say anything they want—I don’t have any issue with that, and I’m not afraid,” he stated.

“If I’m the problem, I have no issue with that. My focus is on winning trophies. Whether I’m the right man for the job is not for me to decide,” he added.

Abubakar Ouattara has defended himself as the right man for Hearts of Oak’s job. The club is preparing for the resumption of the Ghana Premier League and the fans will be furious if they continue with the horrible performance they put up in the MTN FA Cup against Golden Kick.
