Running football in Ghana is the ultimate test in sports. Football in Ghana doesn’t fetch money; football in Ghana will drain all that you have, since there are no sponsors ready to pump in dough.

Former Chief Executive Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak, His Royal Majesty Dr. Nii Ayi-Bonte II, has urged the club to win the 2025-26 Ghana Premier League as he thinks the club is back to its best.

“For now, I’ll say we need to win the league this year. Definitely. We have come back, we’ll give our quarter and support our brother.

His Majesty Dr. Nii Ayi-Bonte shared how difficult it is to run football in Ghana.

“To run football in this country is not so easy. I’ve always been told that Togbe Afede is doing very well. We also need to give him the support to achieve the aim,” he told Citi Sports”.

Togbe Afede has been the one pumping money into Hearts of Oak with His Royal Majesty Nii Ayi Bonti calling for assistance for the club owner.

Accra Hearts of Oak finished fourth in the Ghana Premier League under the leadership of Ivorian head coach Aboubakar Ouattara last season and will set its sights on winning the title under new head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
