Senior High School sporting activities were introduced to unite the students, to give them a lifetime experience and also to identify talents, but the motive behind it has been defeated miserably as it has turned into a war zone.

Schools have been seen engaging in mass brawls across the country during the inter-school sporting activities recently, where authorities have turned death ears to all the unacceptable behaviours of the students.

In the Central Region, a student called Fiadzigbe Collins of Obrachire Senior High Technical School was captured on camera being beaten mercilessly by students from Sweduru School of Business (SWESBUS) in Agona Sweduru.

The news has led to inter-schools sporting activities all suspended across Ghana as the ghana Police Service has launched investigations into the issue.

“They threw a stone at me when I was looking for a place to sit so that I could use medicine on my eye. I didn’t do anything. I was just standing there,” Fiadzigbe said.

He continued, “When I turned, I saw my colleagues running, but I didn’t know what was happening. By the time I realised, they were hitting me with stones”.

When quizzed about what punishment he expects from autghorities, the traumatised student said, “I demand severe government punishment for the perpetrators”.

There was a rumor at the weekend that the student had passed on due to severe injuries, but thankfully, he is alive and kicking and has even been able to grant an interview.
