Top football administrators in Ghana are still commenting on the state of football in the country, with many believing that the game is in a huge mess while others also believe that football in Ghana is still good.

Former Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Alhaji Raji, has debunked the idea that Ghanaian football is poor.

In an interview on ASEMPA FM, the veteran football administrator said,
“Otto Addo keeps inviting different players in every call-up, which does not help the team, and that has been the problem for the Black Stars”.

Alhaji Raji blamed Otto Addo for a lack of consistency in his call-up to the senior national team. During the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, new players were always included and Alhaji Raji thinks it was one of the reasons why the team failed to deliver.

“I don’t think football in Ghana is generally bad. The only thing that is struggling is the Black Stars and other national teams,” he told Asempa FM,” Raji revealed.

The former GHALCA Chairman opined that he sees the Black Stars and the other national teams as the only sides struggling now but football in general is in a very good state.

His assertion is extremely unbelievable as even the average Joe knows that the state of the country’s football is so horrible.

Ghana failed to qualify for the AFCON for the first time in 20 years after failing to beat Angola, minnows Sudan and Niger in any of the 6 qualifying games played.
