Joseph Paintsil, 26, moved to Major League Soccer from Genk in the Belgium Super League in a deal worth 8.5m euros in February 2024.
His to the USA promised to be an incredible one as he sounded so optimistic of delivering for the Los Angeles-based club.
In his first season, LA Galaxy won the Western Conference and the MLS Cup. Paintsil played a key role in the club’s success after scoring in the finals of the MLS Cup against New York Red Bulls.
Speaking to 3 Sports, the Black Stars winger expressed his delight in helping LA Galaxy lift the coveted MLS Cup.
“My season was great. I had a great season. It was fantastic, especially coming to a league like MLS,” the forward said. Joseph can’t ask for more after an incredible season culminating in winning the biggest prize in USA football.
“It’s a different league but the same football. It was a different style of play but altogether it was an amazing season for me because I had a great season scoring a couple of goals and giving more assists which resulted in LA Galaxy winning the Western Conference and the MLS Cup.”
The MLS is a bit different in style compared to European football but it is the same football. The Ghanaian right-winger right from the onset integrated well with his teammates and did not struggle one bit. His quick adaptation to life in the USA was the key to his instant results.
