26-year-old Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi has renewed his PSG stay until 2029. The right-back penned a new three-year deal, making him almost unavailable for transfer to other clubs.

The former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Dortmund defender was recently linked with a move away from the French giants but his contract extension means he is staying in Paris.

When asked about the reason why he renewed his stay, the Morrocan answered, “Why did I extend my contract at PSG? I think the first thing is the ambitious project we have here at the club”. PSG has been so ambitious in the last decade, and they are after the coveted UCL.

“Then there’s the football that the coach has us playing, which I really like! And finally, there are still so many goals I want to achieve with PSG,” Achraf continued.

PSG’s style of play is attractive, with many fans falling in love with Enrique’s tactics. The club has quickly forgotten about Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid and is playing so well.

“First of all, I’d like to thank the President for his confidence and for all the work he does at the club, which is incredible. I’d also like to thank the coach, who has placed his trust in me both on and off the pitch. I also extended my contract because I feel good in this team, and that’s why I’m trying to give my all for the club,” Hakimi showed his appreciation for the club’s trust in him.

“The coach’s new style of play and the team that PSG has built. We’re one big family now and we play for each other. I think that’s the most important thing when everyone pulls in the same direction and works together. There’s a sense of pride, and that gives you even more confidence on the pitch.“

“I’d also like to thank the fans for the support they give me and the whole team at every match and every moment. We still have a lot of big things to achieve together, and I’ll give everything for this shirt, I hope they’re as proud of me as I am of them! I hope to write a great story in Paris with them,” The Moroccan added.

Achraf Hakimi is expecting Paris Saint Germain to challenge for the UCL title. The club will phase French side Brest in the playoff.
