Ghana is second in Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after winning 9 points from four games. Minnows Comoros are on top of the table with 9 points also but have scored a goal more and conceded a goal less than Ghana.

Ghana has every chance to qualify for the next World Cup but it will be a huge task considering the team’s recent performances. 2024 was a distasteful year after winning just two games in the 10 played under Otto Addo in all competitions.

Newly appointed assistant head coach of the Black Stars, Desmond Offei, has disclosed that Ghana is in a fantastic position to book a place in the USA-CANADA-MEXICO World Cup in 2026.

“We have a lot of work to do, but I think we’re in a good position to qualify the team for the World Cup, and everybody’s hungry, and we have a new head of video analysis, or sports mental coach, as you want to call it, so I feel like everybody’s hungry to make sure that we qualify for the World Cup,” Offei told Citi FM.

Changes have been made at the technical staff of the team with the GFA and Ghanaians expecting a huge improvement.

Ghana, in March, will play at home against Chad and travel to Madagascar in rounds 5 and 6 of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
