When the Tema rappers became the face of Ghanaian music, Yaw Siki was part of that group. When Yaw Siki released ‘Wope Dodo’ in 2009, he was on top of his game as the song was played at every party in the country. Yaw Siki was enjoying the fame, women, and was living the dream.

Things suddenly changed when Yaw Siki decided to leave the world behind and become a new human being. When Yaw announced his decision to become a preacher, even his best friends in music doubted him. Yaw has not looked back for nearly a decade and has shared how terrible he was when he was living life haphazardly.

Dr Pounds on Pounds TV about the wild lifestyle he left behind after giving his life to Christ.

“I was a heavy drinker… I knew how to drink paa. I also knew how to smoke waa. If you were looking for one of the artists in Tema who knew how to smoke, I was one of them,” he told Dr Pound on Pounds TV.

“At a point, I wanted to sleep with girls but I wasn’t getting them like that, and that’s what led me to become a chronic masturbator,” Yaw recalled.

“I’m not ashamed to say it now because they are no more. They won’t be embarrassed by it”, the gospel minister added.

Yaw Siki’s journey to becoming a true Christian is an inspirational one because people are in a deep mess and have been trying hard to become born again, but to no avail.

Yaw Siki once said, “No more Alcohol and Weed, it is all about the Holy Bible now”.
