When it comes to the Black Stars, John Mensah knows everything that will make any coach succeed and also fail as he played for 11 years for the Black Stars between 2001- 2012.

The former skipper has backed Ghana’s head coach Otto Addo to succeed and has expressed his delight in the job he is doing.

“Otto Addo is doing well. It’s not easy as Ghanaians see it. He’s managing to unite the team. I think the team did well in their last two World Cup qualification games. Let’s trust the coach and support him, and I think he’ll do well,” said John Mensah.

Ghana beat Mali in Bamako and also defeated Central African Republic in Kumasi in matchday 3 and 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and John Mensah thinks the team did so well.

“Previously, it was difficult for us but you can see they are performing now. They are picking up and I will plead with the fans to exercise patience for the team and I think they will do much better” Mensah added.

The former skipper pleaded with Ghanaians to give their maximum support to the team because he believes the team has potentials to do well.

John Mensah won 86 caps and scored 3 goals in his 11 years career for Black stars.
