40-year-old retired Nigerian footballer Taye Taiwo has predicted how things will pan out in Milan on Tuesday night when Inter Milan welcomes Barcelona from Spain to the San Siro Stadium in Italy.
When the former AC Milan left back was quizzed about Inter Milan’s chances against Barcelona, Taiwo told RG: “For me, they have a big opportunity for sure, but it is not going to be easy to play against Barcelona.
Barcelona and Inter Milan in the first leg drew 3-3, astonishingly. Many expected Barcelona to win, but the Italians shocked them with another fierce encounter expected on Tuesday night.
“The two teams are currently tied at 3-3, so Inter have to be very careful when they play at home,” Taiwo continued.
“If Inter can score an early goal [on Tuesday], I believe they have the quality to go through with their strong defence,” the former Super Eagles defender said.
The first goal will be so crucial to any of the two as whoever scores first will have the mental edge, albeit the tie will not be over until the referee ends it.
