Brazil defeated Senegal 2-0 in a thrilling international friendly at Emirates Stadium, with both goals coming in the first half from Chelsea’s Willian Estevão and Manchester United’s veteran Casemiro.
The match showcased Brazil’s attacking flair and defensive discipline, while Senegal struggled to find rhythm against a well-organised Selecao side in the first half.
The game began with high intensity as Brazil, under Carlo Ancelotti’s guidance, pressed forward with confidence.
Chelsea’s 18-year-old winger Estevão opened the scoring in the 28th minute, curling a beautiful shot past the Senegalese goalkeeper, Mendy, after a deflected pass from Casemiro.
Just seven minutes later, Casemiro doubled the lead with a composed finish from a Rodrygo free-kick, capitalising on Senegal’s lapse in marking.
Senegal attempted to respond in the second half but found it difficult to break down Brazil’s defence, led by Marquinhos and Militão.
Despite having 47% possession and seven corner kicks, Senegal managed only one shot on target. Brazil, meanwhile, maintained control and created several chances, with Matheus Cunha hitting both the post and the crossbar in a lively display.
The victory was Brazil’s seventh consecutive win at the Emirates Stadium, reinforcing their dominance in friendly fixtures held there.
However, the triumph was slightly overshadowed by an injury to Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães, who limped off with a suspected groin issue.
For Senegal, this marked their first defeat in two years—a reminder of the level required to compete with elite teams ahead of the World Cup.
It was Brazil’s first win in three games against the West Africans, having drawn 1-1 and lost 4-2 in previous games.
