This is Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng, also known as Kofi Boat, suspected to be the ringleader of ‘The Enterprise’ of three Ghanaian ‘big boys’ and an alleged cybercrime kingpin, arrested in a joint operation between Interpol and the US FBI in connection with a hundred million dollar fraud scheme.

The suspects, Kofi Boat, another known only as Agony, and a third accomplice, are currently facing extradition to the US following an indictment by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Reportedly, the suspects impersonate company officials via spoofed email accounts, attaching fake letters and bearing forged signatures to trick victims into authorising wire transfers.

Victims were manipulated into believing they were in romantic relationships and were persuaded to send money under false pretences, such as promised business opportunities or fictitious emergencies.

At least one business and eight individuals have been identified as confirmed victims of the scheme, which US prosecutors say led to the loss of at least $100 million.
