Kwesi Appiah is the head of Sporting Affairs for Kumasi Asante Kotoko. He is undoubtedly one of the few people the great Ashanti King, Otumfou Osei Tutu II trusts in football matters.

The Sudan coach disclosed on Akoma FM that the club must win the Ghana Premier League to make the king happy because he has been making huge investments in the club. Kwesi Appiah is one of the beloved sons of Asante Kotoko as he has supported, played, captained and coached the club.

“I believe the coach understands this and will do everything possible to ensure that we qualify for Africa next season,” said Appiah.

“Looking at the players we have now and the investment the King is making, I believe it would be an honour to win the league and qualify for Africa next season to make him happy,” he said.

The club patron, His Royal Majesty, Otumfou Osei II has proven to everyone over the years that he is committed to making the club return to its former glory after pumping in cash and also into the team. He single-handedly finances transfers, and salaries and  is also building a Grade A training facility for his beloved Fabulous at the Adako Jachie Complex

On the teams current performance, Kwesi Appiah said, “So far, we are playing very well, and with God’s help, I feel that if we continue fighting, we will automatically win the GPL title.”

Asante Kotoko are one of the six teams locked in a tight battle for the GPL title. The club is just two points behind the leaders Heart of Lions having won 28 points from 16 games and are 6th on the league log.
