23-year-old Ivorian forward Simon Kofi Adingra has signed a five-year deal with newly promoted English Premier League side Sunderland.
The Ivory Coast international joins the Black Cats from Brighton & Hove Albion after 3 years in their books. Schooled in the famous Right To Dream Academy in Ghana, the Ivory Coast international joined the Seagulls from Danish side Nordsjaelland in Denmark in 2022, where he had a loan spell immediately with Belgian side Union SG in the 2022-23 season.
Sunderland has agreed to pay £18m plus £2.5m in add-ons for the young Ivory Coast forward who can play across the front three positions. Having gained much experience at the top level, Adingra is expected to help the Black Cats battle for a place in the 2026-27 season.
“Welcome to Sunderland AFC, Simon Adingra!
“Moving from Brighton & Hove Albion, the 23-year-old winger has signed a five-year contract at the Stadium of Light,” the Black Cats announced.
Adingra will join Senegalese midfielder Habib Diarra, who, early in the transfer window, secured a 30 million pounds deal from French side Strasbourg.
