Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku is very optimistic Ghana will book a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Group I saw huge changes due to Ghana winning the two games they played. The wins over Chad and Madagascar helped the Black Stars zoom to the summit of the Group.
Basaksehir’s defender Jerome Opoku, who played a combined 94 minutes in Ghana’s two victories, has assured Ghanaians that he is beyond confident that Ghana will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“I am 200% confident of qualifying… We know it’s not job done yet, and it won’t be easy, but we will fight hard till the end to ensure that we secure the necessary and needed points to be first in the group and qualify for the World Cup,” Jerome told Flashscore.
“We are working diligently… We remain focused on the task ahead and believe that we will achieve our goal,” Jerome Opoku added.
The task ahead now is so simple: beat Chad in Morocco and Mali in Accra on rounds 7 and 8 and stand a greater chance of qualifying.
The job is not done yet because Comoros sits second, trailing Ghana by three points, but Black Stars a huge chance ahead of the other competitors.
