Vivian Anto, 31, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly cutting off her 9-year-old daughter’s toe as a form of punishment for coming home late in Juaboso.
The individual is reported to have used scissors to sever the right index toe of her daughter.
The individual affected is currently being treated at Kofikrom SDA Hospital in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.
The police arrived at the hospital after receiving the report and saw the young girl with a new bandage on her right foot.
An initial assessment revealed that her right index toe had been cut off by a sharp object.
Shockingly, the victim allegedly named her mother as the person who committed the act during the questioning.
The suspect is now in police custody and is helping with the investigation of the incident.
