Authorities in Kasoa have apprehended three men who are alleged to have sexually abused their daughters.
This action was taken after a formal complaint was submitted by the Awutu Senya East Municipal Education Directorate.
Officials from the directorate stated that the girls shared their experiences with the Girl-Child and Guidance and Counselling coordinators, leading to prompt action.
The directorate observed that reports of violations related to child protection are rising in frequency within the municipality.
The Ghana Police Service stated that all three fathers were taken into custody shortly after the complaint was made and are working with investigators as the case moves forward.
Education officials in the municipality have reiterated their request for improved cooperation among institutions to protect children, emphasising that the situation underscores ongoing challenges that young people in the area encounter.
They expressed concerns about the lack of a Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) office in Awutu Senya East, even though the commission has a significant presence across the country.
Officials state that the gap restricts prompt access to support services for victims and their families.
