Before he would rob her, a 22-year-old boy, identified as Kwame, raped a national service nurse who was a tenant in his family’s house at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

Kwame deceived the victim into believing she had a visitor waiting for her in front of the Yiadom Hwedie Palace of the New Juabemanhene.

While she was away, Kwame quickly changed his clothes, wore a mask and sneaked into the victim’s bedroom.

Upon her return, he pulled a knife on her and demanded all her money.

The victim, out of fear, handed over more than Gh¢1000 in cash to him.

Kwame, who was not satisfied, further demanded a mobile money transfer, but the victim had no funds in her account.

The accused then ordered her to undress, bend down and sexually assaulted her.

Kwame fled the house immediately after the incident and went into hiding.

However, the victim, who was able to identify him despite his attempt to disguise his voice, complained to the police station, which led to his arrest.
