Scores of drivers and customers visiting the refurbished Kumasi International Airport, also known as Agyemang Prempeh I International Airport, in the Ashanti Region have expressed frustration over the increased entry fee at the airport terminal.

Affected customers have taken to social media to display receipts showing a GH¢5 fee for entering the terminal.

They noted that the rate used to be GH¢1 but has been increased without any prior announcement from the facility’s management.

A driver shared his plight on social media, expressing disappointment in the new development.

“To enter Prempeh International Airport k3k3, a vehicle has to pay GH¢5. I am not talking about parking fees but simple drop-offs and pickups. I don’t know whether the airport is a zoo or a museum to warrant an entry fee. What a travesty!

“In other words, Kumasi residents are being taxed to pay for the airport that is not government-funded. Before the upgrade, it cost GH¢1.00 to enter, which was even an insult. And now GH¢5.00,” he wrote.
