The state of KSTS is very appalling and disgraceful. What are some of the words we use to describe something unpleasant?
Dreadful, horrendous, heinous, ghastly, atrocious, abhorrent. Many words of this kind must be used to describe the state of KSTS or KSHTS.
The Patasi-based school has been in existence since 1991, and no one can argue that there has been proper renovation since then, looking at how the infrastructure of the school looks.
Students have complained. Teachers have complained. Non-teaching staff have complained, but all to no avail.
The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori Boadi, has expressed his displeasure and disappointment in the unacceptable state of the school.
In an interview on Fakye TV with Kojo Marfo, the mayor said, “The situation at KSTS is alarming. If the good people of Kumasi and the Ashanti Region can come together to help, I would even go on my knees and plead”. Mr Boadi’s demeanour when requesting help for the school says it all; the school is in crisis and needs an urgent assist from all angles.

“I wish we could dedicate a month of support. If I could get at least 1,000 people to donate GH₵500 each, we could begin addressing this crisis immediately. I can’t sleep over this matter”, he added. The KMA boss requested help from 1000 people and requested a contribution between GHC1,000 and GHC5,000 to immediately help renovate the school.
“People’s children are living there, but the conditions are simply unfit. If you stand outside, the school looks fine, but once you enter, it’s a heartbreaking scene,” he added. Toilet, dining hall, dormitories, classrooms and bathrooms are in a very deplorable condition and must be attended to as soon as possible.

Zuba continued, “I want 1,000 people in the Ashanti Region to contribute between GH₵100 and GH₵500 each. The sanitation situation is particularly disturbing. I even told the headmaster that if a student takes alcohol before using the toilet due to the unbearable stench, and they are punished for it, I won’t support that punishment because no one can withstand that environment.”
“I really want to work, but the resources are not enough to execute my plans. That’s why I’m appealing directly to the public for help,” the MCE concluded. It seems limited finances are preventing the KMA boss from executing his plans after begging for financial assistance to make KSTS great again.
