Jordan Ayew was suspended for Leicester City’s 2-0 home defeat against Manchester City on Boxing Day due to yellow card accumulation. The lacklustre Foxes lacked killer instincts in attack when they faced the Citizens, so the son of the legendary Abedi Pele’s return is good news for the club.

Ahead of their visit to Aston Villa on Saturday, Leicester City’s Dutch manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy talked about his happiness with the veteran Ghanaian striker’s return.

“We’re delighted to have Jordan Ayew back after his suspension, which is a big boost for us,” Van Nistelrooy said.

Leicester City are still in trouble and will need everyone on board in the battle for survival. The club has lost all its last four Premier League games, making it the most out-of-form side in the top flight.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy has recorded a single win since taking over from Steve Cooper as the manager of Leicester City. Jordan Ayew, 33, has scored 4 goals in 16 games in the EPL. He is only behind Jamie Vardy, the top scorer of the club, who has found the back of the net six times thus far.

The Foxes are just a place above the relegation zone. Jordan Ayew is expected to start in the attack alongside Jamie Vardy against his old club, Aston Villa.
