A man is currently in police custody and is helping with the investigation into the violent stabbing of a family member’s eyes.
William Gyamfi, also known as Kofi Manso, age 55, has been taken into custody for reportedly stabbing a family member in both eyes with scissors during a domestic altercation in Sefwi Abrokofe.
William is accused of assaulting Akua Agyeiwaa, who is thought to be in her early 50s, during a disagreement, resulting in serious injuries to her.
She was quickly taken to the Juaboso Government Hospital for urgent medical care. Reports indicate that before the deployment of a police patrol team to the community to apprehend the suspect, he was attacked by several residents.
The suspect, whom residents claim has a history of violent behaviour, including a past incident involving a cutlass attack on her brother-in-law.
He had noticeable injuries, including swelling around his left eye and forehead, and there was bleeding from his left leg. The suspect was transported to Juaboso Government Hospital for medical care and was subsequently released.
