A 42-year-old man named Nya Meah is accused of killing his neighbour, Cosmos Nda, who attempted to prevent him from taking his own life in Takinta, located in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region.
Sources indicate that Nya Meah tried to reach his son by phone to share his intention to take his own life, but was unsuccessful.
It is reported that he later sent his son a voice message advising him not to leave his body in the morgue after his death.
After hearing the audio, the son who hurried outside to contact his uncle encountered a person named Cosmos Nda.
According to reports, when Nya Meah arrived at the house, he began accusing Cosmos of following him several times.
He then went into his room and came out with a knife. Cosmos reportedly fell while attempting to escape, and Nyameah killed him immediately.
Nya Meah left the scene after the incident, and attempts to capture him were unsuccessful.
Subsequently, without the knowledge of his neighbours, he returned to the community and entered his home, which he then set on fire while under the influence of herbicide.
Neighbours observed that the house was on fire and quickly went to the location, only to discover that it was burning.
