Reagan Kwasi Egbi Addo, also known as Morgan Addo, a resident of Ashaley Botwey, is accused of exchanging the ATM card of a retired Fire Service officer, one of several victims, and withdrawing the officer’s entire retirement savings.
Investigations found that the suspect uses dishonest tactics to steal ATM cards, reportedly creating situations at ATM sites that hinder users from completing their transactions.
He then goes to the victims, pretending to offer assistance and exchanges their cards to take their money. Reports indicate that the suspect has taken out several sums of money using stolen ATM cards at various locations.
A search of his home resulted in the finding of eight ATM cards. He was reportedly on the police wanted list for theft and was arrested at the Diaspora Summit 2025 while pretending to be a legitimate participant to commit theft.
The police reported that he was discovered wearing an official summit badge, but when questioned, he could not give a valid explanation for being at the event. Addo is believed to have taken valuables from participants’ bags and laptops during breaks at conference meetings. He is currently in police custody while investigations are ongoing.
