Per reports in the UK’s Manchester Evening News, English giants Manchester United are on the verge of finalizing a new and improved contract for the young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

The 19-year-old has established himself as a key player in Erik ten Hag’s midfield and recently earned a spot in England’s starting lineup for Euro 2024.

The Manchester United Academy graduate has not hit the standards he set for himself last season after playing above his age but the club believe he has the potential to reach the level they required hence the need to offer him a long and an improved contract.

The Stockport born’s current contract with the club runs until 2027, with an option for an additional year but the club is set to add two more years, per multiple sources.
