A family was surprised to learn that their deceased relative, who they believed was still in the morgue, had already been buried by another family three months earlier.

In Assin Odumase, located in the Central Region, the family of 40-year-old George Kwame Antwi was shocked to discover that another family had buried him three months ago.

Antwi’s family received the unexpected news after they had finished all the funeral preparations, such as arranging food, paying for the funeral services, sound systems, canopies, mattresses, accommodations, and inviting guests to the burial.

At the time of his death in September 2025, Antwi was placed in the Assin Brofoyedur Mortuary for preservation, but the mortuary staff could not find his body.

The family stated that Antwi’s body was accidentally exchanged with that of a 75-year-old man.
