Four Ghanaian national teams are set to get massive financial backing after MTN Ghana announced that they are investing an astonishing $2 million to help boost their performances.
Which of the national teams will benefit?
Black Stars, the senior men’s team, Black Queens, the senior women’s team, Black Satellites, the boys U20 and the U20 Black Starlets – for the next two years.
These four national teams are receiving huge incentives where the next WAFCON, AFCON and World Cups, if Ghana qualifies, will receive some of the funds.
MTN Ghana’s official announcement;
“MTN will be the proud Headline Sponsor for all four national teams — the Black Stars, the Black Queens, the Black Satellites, & the Black Starlets — for the next two years, from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2027.
“This is more than a sponsorship. It is an action that is deepening the bond between us and the people of Ghana, the GFA, the Ministry, and the entire sports fraternity.
MTN’s C.E.O., Stephen Blewett’s comments about the investment;
“We believe this investment will not only boost the performance of our national teams but also inspire young talents across the country”, Blewett said.
In MTN’s bid to play a huge role in the improvement of Ghana’s football, the mobile telecommunications provider decided to invest.
MTN is also committed to increasing the investment when the current deal expires, per multiple sources.
