Flashback to 2009 when Obrafour released ‘Kasiebo’ in which he featured talented young rapper Guru. The diss track was full of controversies as they dissed, hard punched and tore OK (Okyeame Kwame) into pieces.

The song became probably the biggest diss song ever released by any artiste in Ghana as it was popular, beautifully crafted and well-arranged.

Exdoe and Chicago dissed each other earlier in the history of Hiplife, but their tracks were nowhere near Obrafour’s Kasiebo.

The song was arranged in the form of a radio interview with Guru serving as the presenter and Obrafour playing a guest role.

Obrafour reacted to the brags some of the Ghanaian artists were making when he was away from the game for a while. His reactions to Killing the Game by Okyeame Kwame and Obour caused a commotion in the industry but none of them was able to respond.

In an interview with Hitz FM, when Okyeame Kwame was asked why he did not respond, the then ‘Best Rapper Alive’ said his wife and professor advised him to stop.

“I was angry at that time, I got very angry. I wanted to react, but Professor Asante, who was my academic teacher at that time, and my wife stopped me. I had already written books about diss songs. I wanted to take the same beat used in Kasiebo and diss him back.,” Okyeame Kwame said.

Diss songs became so popular during the hiplife days, and the undisputed king was Obrafour. He was in a battle with Lord Kenya when he released his remix of Ɔyɛ hene which he featured Tiny. He continued it with Kasiebo with Guru, and any artists responding to his diss song were always going to be in trouble.

“My wife said I hadn’t done a song about Nkrumah or God, so I shouldn’t be doing a song about him,” Kwame continued.

The Ɔy3 ohene crooner’s song about Kwame Nkrumah remains one of the best songs ever for our legends by any artiste in the history of Ghanaian music. Okyeame Kwame’s wife’ wanted the husband to wax lyrical about the first president of Ghana, Osafyefoɔ Dr Kwame Nkrumah or the almighty God above, instead of Obrafour.

“Among all the things I have done in my life, the only thing I’m grateful for is not insulting Obrafour back because I would have lost my respect and a friend,” Okyeame Kwame concluded.

Okyeame Kwame expressed his excitement about not responding to Obrafour and Guru’s diss song in 2009, which created enmity among them.

Many believe Obrafour has been the best rapper since rap was introduced into the Ghanaian music environment in the mid-1990s. He has had so many teaks that he subtly jabbed his peers, talking about how no one comes closer and exactly makes him the best.

Obrafour battled with Kenya and Okyeame Kwame for supremacy.
