The Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), Kafui Danku-Pitcher, has criticized Nigerian filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye for failing to provide evidence of movie piracy by Ghanaian television stations.
Bimbo Ademoye had accused certain Ghanaian TV stations of showing her movies without proper authorization, but when asked for evidence, she claimed that the evidence had disappeared because it was sent to her in a disappearing chat mode on WhatsApp.
The NFA’s Response
Kafui Danku-Pitcher found Bimbo Ademoye’s response “ridiculous” and suggested that the Nigerian actress might be using the NFA to gain attention.
Despite this, the NFA boss emphasized that the authority is working to resolve issues of piracy in the country, having met with the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Minister for Communications.
The Piracy Issue
Movie piracy is a significant problem in Ghana, and the NFA is taking steps to address it.
Kafui Danku-Pitcher assured that the authority is working to protect the rights of filmmakers and prevent piracy.
Bimbo Ademoye’s Claims
Bimbo Ademoye’s claims of movie piracy by Ghanaian TV stations sparked a response from the NFA.
However, her failure to provide evidence has raised questions about the authenticity of her claims.
The NFA’s Kafui Danku-Pitcher has expressed skepticism about Bimbo Ademoye’s intentions, suggesting that she might be seeking attention.
