West African nation Niger has announced that Hausa is the national language and reduced French to a basic working language.

French has been the official language since independence in eay back 1960, even though Hausa is the most widely spoken language in the country.

Hausa is a very popular language across Africa as it is the second most spoken language on the continent, with over 120 million speakers, per research.

Niger, in a match, also left the International Organization of La Francophonie.

French-speaking West African nations are preparing to shun anything France and manage their own affairs, per all indications.
