Approximately 100 individuals in the United States. A Nigerian defence spokesperson announced that military personnel from the United States of Smerica have arrived in Nigeria as the US increases its efforts to address Islamist insurgents.

A military team has been working on the ground to enhance Nigeria’s intelligence abilities. Recently, multiple aircraft transporting U.S. personnel have been reported.

Flight tracking data shows that troops and equipment have been sent to the northern states of Nigeria.

Major General Samaila Uba, the spokesperson for Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters, stated that the troops will provide training and advice to local forces, but they will not engage in combat.

Earlier this month, Nigeria’s military announced that it anticipated the arrival of approximately 200 additional U.S. soldiers.

The presidential spokesperson, Sunday Dare, stated that Nigeria requires significant assistance from the United States.

The government discussed fighter jets and munitions, but did not provide specific numbers or a timeline. Nigeria has a population of 240 million people, with Christians primarily located in the south and Muslims mainly in the north.

It recognises significant security issues, including threats from Islamist fighters, but states that Christians do not experience widespread or systematic persecution.
