The High Court for Lafia, Nasarawa State, has severely punished Nigerian singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer, for murdering his girlfriend, Salome Adaida and has been sentenced to death by hanging.
The Nigerian artiste, who is also a motivational speaker, gruesomely murdered his girlfriend, Salome, who is a National Youth Service member and dismembered her body in early January 2025.
Ajayi was arrested near a church holding a sack containing the head of Salome. Without showing any remorse, Ajayi confessed to the crime, claiming he acted out of jealousy and emotional distress after discovering Salome’s alleged infidelity through chats he saw on her mobile phone. After the arrest, he led police to where he had buried other body parts of Salomey.
The judgement was passed on Thursday by Justice Simon Aboki after being charged with culpable homicide, which goes contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria, which is punishable by death.Ni
