Former Heavyweight British boxer Anthony Joshua visited President John Dramani Mahama at Jubilee House on Monday, June 16, and everyone smiled.

The 34-year-old former world champion revealed that Nigerians have lied to him about Ghana for all these years.

“Coming to Ghana actually wasn’t on my agenda. Because, for some reason, everyone in Nigeria puts Nigeria above Ghana,” Joshua said.

“But I’m now here and looking around like, they’ve been lying to me,” Anthony said.

Anthony Joshua’s revelation made people laugh, and many recalled the Ghana-Nigeria beef that has existed since the 1970s.

The boxing icon, on a mission to explore sports investment opportunities in Ghana, praised the country’s atmosphere, culture, and hospitality.

Joshua had a conversation with Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams. There, they discussed the country and the continent as a whole.

President Mahama’s son, Shaaraf Mahama, invited Anthony Joshua to grace his boxing night at the Bukom Boxing Arena. The young man aims to revive Ghana’s lost boxing legacy as his love for the sport is immeasurable.
