Former Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye has disclosed that the Black Stars are not still at the level he wants to see them after back-to-back wins in rounds 5 and 6 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana defeated Chad by 5-0 in Accra and brushed aside Madagascar by 3-0 in Morocco to take full control of Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
However, the former Youth & Sports Minister of Ghana is not convinced at all with the Black Stars.
“I think the two matches we have played so far don’t give me any indication that there has been an improvement in the team, even though we’ve won those matches by wide score lines,” Nii Lante Vanderpuye disclosed.
The Black Stars’ opponents in March’s international break cannot be used to measure how good the team has become, but at least there was a huge improvement for everyone to see.
Ghana, in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, failed to win a single game and disastrously ended 2025 in shame.
