Sammy Gyamfi has been in the news in the last 4 days after a video captured him gifting Agradaa dollars at a funeral. Ghanaians got livid seeing the CEO of GoldBod showboating.
The young CEO apologised to Ghanaians for his unacceptable behaviour.
Ghanaians demanded for punishment from the government to Sammy Gyamfi to serve as a deterrent to other appointees.
Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff, warned him against showing off, which could infuriate Ghanaians.
On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the government, Felix Ofusu Kwakye, during a press conference to address the issue, revealed that no action will be taken against Sammy Gyamfi.
“So in view of that, the Presidency does not believe that any further actions ought to be taken beyond the apology and the caution,” Felix Kwakye Ofosu said.
The spokesperson revealed that the decision is from the presidency, as Sammy Gyamfi has apologised to Ghanaians and has also been warned.
“We must be sensitive to what Ghanaians expect from us. We are aware that Ghanaians expect high standards in the performance of our duties as public officials. We remain committed to meeting those high standards to ensure that we deliver the best of governance to our people who have been long suffering in the last few years under poor governance,” he concluded.
Government officials have been warned by the president to be responsible, and whoever goes contrary to the standards will face the law.
