A 17-year-old Junior High School student has been mobbed to death for stealing at Gushegu in the Northern Region.

The young boy was accused of stealing a welding machine belonging to one of his uncles, Adramani, popularly known in the town as ‘Enumode’.

Adramani is said to have mobilised his accomplices, Kpanani Zaachi, who carries himself as a Chief and Gbambu Yapalsu.

The suspects are said to have trooped to the deceased boy’s house to confront him over the missing machine.

Speaking to Crime Check TV Gh, the father of the deceased, who is a former Parliamentary Candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed, said the suspects came to his house looking for his son.

He said they dragged him out of the house and subjected him to severe beatings to compel him to confess.

Days later, the boy’s body was discovered along the Gushegu/Yendi highway, where they may have left him after the mob action.

The welding machine was, however, later found with another person in Yendi. Information we have gathered indicates that, though Zaachi and another suspect have been arrested, the father of the deceased may be reluctant to facilitate the prosecution of the perpetrators.

When Crime Check TV Gh contacted Alhaji on the issue, he said he wanted to bury his son first before he would legally pursue the matter.
