The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially referred multiple petitions filed against its Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, to the party’s National Council for consideration, signaling that the controversy surrounding his conduct is being treated as a matter of high-level concern.
In a statement released on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party confirmed it had received petitions from some members who are demanding Mr. Owusu Bempah’s removal from his position.
The complaints reportedly center on his public utterances and actions, which petitioners argue are inconsistent with the values and standards of the governing party.
Appointment and Process
Mr. Owusu Bempah, a well-known political communicator and outspoken figure, was appointed as Deputy Director of Communications on the recommendation of the NPP’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
