A group of supporters within the NPP are dissatisfied with the leadership of Justin Kodua General, the party’s Secretary.

The National Youth Ambassadors for Change (NYAC) is a grassroots organisation dedicated to the party’s growth.

They are prepared to oppose Justin Kodua’s bid for a second term. Kwadwo Sebe, the group leader, expressed his dissatisfaction with Kodua for failing to meet their expectations.

There were significant expectations for Mr Sebe, who took office in July 2022 following the party’s National Delegates Conference.

He went on to say that ‘many people thought Mr Kodua’s leadership had the potential to invigorate the party, enhance grassroots mobilisation, and prepare the NPP for electoral success; however, he has not yet met our expectations’.

The party’s leaders believe that several factors led to their significant loss in the 2024 General Elections, including inadequate connections with grassroots supporters.

In the 2020 general elections, the party won 137 seats and retained its majority status.

In the 2024 elections, the party’s representation decreased to 87 seats, resulting in a loss of 50 parliamentary seats and moving it into the Minority.
