Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced the passing of his mother, Comfort Agyepong (née Adjoa Badu).
In a heartfelt tribute, the former NPP Presidential aspirant, Kwabena Agyepong described his mother as “a pillar of strength, love, and resilience” who will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Comfort Agyepong passed away on February 18, 2025, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after battling a prolonged illness.

She was the devoted wife of the late Justice Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong, one of the three High Court judges who were kidnapped and brutally murdered on June 30, 1982, during the early months of the 31st December Revolution.
As the last surviving spouse of the Martyrs of the Rule of Law, Mrs. Agyepong’s passing marks the end of an era.
Her son, Kwabena Agyepong, has been a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, serving as the General Secretary of the NPP from 2014 to 2015 before he was suspended.
He was reinstated as a former General Secretary of the party in May 2021, after a five-year suspension.
However, the family has announced that funeral details will be shared in due course.
