NSA reports ₵3,000 profit from Ghana v Chad match

Per ace broadcaster, Dan Kwaku Yeboah of Peace FM, the National Sports Authority of Ghana has reported a benefit of just ₵3,000 in Ghana’s matchday 5 fixture against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium in March.

The stadium was filled to its fullest capacity as 40,000 Ghanaians were in attendance and witnessed the 5-0 demolishing of the minnows, Chad.

“The National Sports Authority (NSA) has reported a profit of just GHS 3,000 from recent Ghana vs Chad match, despite a fully packed stadium and gross ticket sales amounting to GHS 500,000”, Dan Kwaku Yeboah disclosed via his Facebook account.

“A significant portion of the revenue, over GHS 300,000, was spent on ticket printing alone. This leaves roughly GHS 197,000 unaccounted for in the breakdown, presumably covering other operational costs such as security, staffing, logistics, and stadium maintenance,” Kwaku Yeboah added.

The profit of just ₵3,000 has divided the opinions of Ghanaians as they think it is totally unacceptable to make such an unacceptable amount from a game 40,000 spectators attended.

Ghana sits on top of Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, having won 15 points from 18, with three points more ahead of second-placed Comoros.

The Black Stars will travel to Chad in game 7 and host Mali at Accra Sports Stadium in game 8 with both matches scheduled to be played in September 2025.
