Nsoatreman Football Club’s troubles will not end any time soon after the unfortunate demise of Asante Kotoko’s biggest fan, Pooley, in week 19 of the Ghana Premier League at the Nana Koramansah Park.
The death of Asante Kotoko’s staunch supporter, who could turn the anti-Ghana Premier League fan into a football reveller, has led to the suspension of top-flight football across the country.
The latest information emanating from the camp of the Nsoatre-based club is that the club’s players have officially informed the hierarchy in the form of a letter that they wish to terminate their contracts.
They have given two reasons; firstly, the players have confirmed that their lives are in danger now since their names remain in the books of the club.
Secondly, they have shockingly revealed that the club has not been able to pay them their salaries for the last seven months.
Nsoatreman informed Ghanaians the day after Pooley’s death their decision to dissolve the club permanently.
They stated that the owner, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, a former Member of Parliament, says he is not financially benefitting from the club.
